Elected in 2008 to the Texas House of Representatives, Weber earned a record that promotes principled conservative values. During his tenure in the House, he served on the committees of Environmental Regulation, Public Education and as Vice Chair of Border and Intergovernmental Affairs. A dedicated public servant was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in November 2012 to represent the Fourteenth Congressional District of Texas. Since being elected to Congress in 2012, Weber has been a vocal leader on reining in the Environmental Protection Agency on the Science, Space, Technology Committee as well as strengthening relations with allies and moving toward a strong policy against terrorist regimes on the House Foreign Affairs Committee. He was awarded the Foodservice Distribution Industry’s “Thomas Jefferson” Award, the Competitive Enterprise Institute’s “Champion of the Worker” Award, and the National Retail Federation’s “Hero of Main Street” Award.

Mayor Freeman led the successful efforts to include actual jobs for Port Arthur Citizens in refinery contract discounts. He also led the successful efforts in attaching refinery contracting with Port Arthur business to tax discounts. Mayor Freeman is the first mayor of Port Author in the past 40 years to improve the little league baseball fields. He’s also worked to start the Yard of the Month in Port Arthur.
